CARE Program Requirements
3 Required Counseling Contacts
- 1st – During the beginning of the semester term
- 2nd – Academic Progress Report Submission. See APR information below.
- 3rd – Can be scheduled after APR submission and must be completed before the end of the semester term.
CARE Coordinator Appointment
You must meet with the CARE Coordinator at least once during the semester term. This appointment will also fulfill your EOPS Student Specialist Appointment requirement.
Academic Progress Report (APR)
The APR is a very important tool that will give you an indication of your academic status in your courses. It is state mandated that EOPS/CARE utilize this process as a means of measuring success. This requirement will also help your counselors and instructors monitor your academic progress, coordinate interventions, and make appropriate referrals (i.e.: tutoring) if necessary. Submission of a passing APR (C grade or higher in all courses) will count for credit as a 2nd counseling contact. Only non-passing APR submissions will require a 2nd Counseling appointment.
Workshop
CARE students are required to complete 2 approved CARE workshops to be eligible for the end-of-semester CARE grant.
